QUESTION: HAVE YOU EVER TRAVELED TO ARMENIA? IF SO, SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES AND IF NOT, WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO, AND WHY?
When I was 10 years old I went to Armenia with my family. Since I traveled there at such a young age, I was not able to experience the full effect and could not appreciate being in Armenia. I would love to go to Armenia again, to be able to see where my culture comes from and to see all the historical sites. Although I have already gone, I would love to go again to see and experience my Armenian heritage.
Ernest Martirosyan:
When I traveled to Armenia, it was a big change for me because I hadn’t been there since I was 7 years old. It was a good experience because I saw how everything had changed. It was completely different from what I remembered as a child. Although everything had changed, the people were still the same, loving and caring.
I traveled to Armenia in my junior year of high school. I was able to see many of the churches like Etchmiadzin and Geghart, and also the Dzidzernagapert (Armenian Genocide) Memorial. I truly feel that one can’t fully appreciate Armenia until they actually see it.
