Dear Dr. Kouymjian:
You probably don’t remember me. I had taken a few history courses with you at AUB in 1971-72.
Recently I came across this book, Respected Citizens, by Nadia Wright. While I was reading it I remembered a paper that I had written for one of my history classes with you-“Merchants of the Caspian Sea.” It was a short research paper on the Armenian merchants of the 17th-19th centuries. My memories went back and I remembered you and your dedication to teaching.
If you have the book already, please accept it as a token of appreciation for the beautiful years of studying with you. I am grateful for you teaching me. If you don’t have it then it will also be another reading for you.
I had heard that you are teaching at Fresno State. Hope this book and letter finds you well. Hope to see you sometime in the future.
Your “old” student,
