Hye Talk, the television interview program, produced by the Armenian Studies Program and Department of Mass Communications and Journalism at Fresno State, had its premiere on Thursday, October 11.

The show airs on ATT Broadband (Cable) Channel 14 on Thursday nights, from 10:00-10:30 PM.

Hye Talk host Barlow Der Mugrdechian, of the Armenian Studies Program, will interview a variety of people for the program. The first three shows highlight Armenian dance and music.

Hye Talk will also include a new addition, 2-3 minute “packages,” pre-produced and airing during the shows. These “packages” will highlight various areas of interest to the community.

Don Priest, who is the producer of the show, and teaches the advanced course in television production, is happy to have Hye Talk on the air. He and his students have put in many hours to put together the only locally produced Armenian television show in the San Joaquin Valley. Producing Hye Talk is the ideal way for students to get a real hands-on experience in television production.

The students meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays to discuss new ideas for the show and then put in hours of their own time after class.

The sum of their efforts and the efforts of the Armenian Studies Program is Hye Talk.

Executive producer Barlow Der Mugrdechian has involved students from the Armenian Studies Program in assisting and in preparing material for the show. The students are excited to be involved in the project which airs throughout the San Joaquin Valley.
